Parcours athlete Izzy Sharp takes on the Junior Time Trial at the World Championships

This Thursday, Parcours athlete Izzy Sharp will be taking on the worlds best in the Junior Women's World Championships in Stirling, Scotland. We sat down with her to chat about her aims for the race, how her preparation has gone and her Parcours Chrono and Disc² wheels.

You’ve had an amazing season so far, does that give you confidence going into the World Champs next week?

Yes I can take confidence from the season so far, it's been fantastic. I am hoping for the 🌈, however on the day anything can happen!

How has the preparation gone coming into worlds?

The preparation has gone well. At first it was daunting having the Worlds so early in the year but actually i think it has worked out well for me and my season!

What do you think of the course, and especially the climb at the finish?

If I had it my way, the course would be a flat out and back. It’s going to be challenging, however, I hope I still have the ability to put my best foot forward and perform at my best on the day.
The cobbles also suit me well and especially so with the help from Parcours to get everything right for it. So.. let’s hope it all works out on the day!

What wheels will you be running for the race and are there any external factors like the weather that will influence your wheel choice?

For the race this Thursday, I will be running the Parcours Chrono Max front wheel paired with the Disc².

In regards to the external factors Parcours have provided me with 3 different front wheels which include the Strade, Chrono and Chrono Max to ensure I am prepared for every factor that may effect my ride on the day.

How have your wheels felt in races this year so far?

My wheels have been perfect… I couldn’t ask for anything more from them or Parcours. They give me every aero gain as well as being stable and comfortable to to ride. Parcours has also helped to recommend tyres and tyre pressures so i’m always ready to race on the day, and most especially on Thursday in Stirling 👊🏼

Good luck Izzy, we will be cheering you on! Tune in on GCN+ from 11am on Thursday.
